The VTCT Level 2 Award in Facial Massage and Skin Care is a qualification that has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in providing facial skin care. Teaching you the following massage techniques – Lymphatic Drainage, Pressure Point Therapy, Swedish Techniques as well as all the fundamental skills required to carry out an incredible facial treatment.

You will develop knowledge of health and safety practices essential in the salon environment. Also, you’ll learn how to promote client care and communicate effectively with your clients to best meet their needs.

You will also develop knowledge and understanding of the practical skills learned throughout this qualification. Essential for holistic understanding of what affects the treatment and products have on the skins tissues.

The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in beauty therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services.

In this qualification for facial training for beauty therapy careers, you will learn about maintaining and improving facial skin conditions. We use; exfoliation, skin warming, comedone extraction, facial massage, mask treatments and facial moisturising products.

You will need to maintain effective health, safety and hygiene procedures throughout your work.

You will also learn about the following –

Skin analysis.
Massage techniques including pressure point massage.
How to analyse and treat skin types.
How to recognise and treat skin conditions.
Understand examples of skin imperfections.
Identify contra-indications and contra-actions.

Client care and communication in beauty-related industries will also be studied along with health and safety

You will develop your communication skills to deal with consultations, complaints, client comfort and all forms of client care. You will learn how to develop a client‑centred approach to all your treatments.

This qualification is delivered over 6 days, 1 day each week within our academy.

This qualification is an essential pre-requisite for anyone following a route into beauty therapy specialising in dermaplaning, chemical peels, skin needling and radio frequency. Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology can be completed after this course in preparation for level 4 training.

If your cancellation is at least 24 hours in advance of the class, you will receive a full refund. If your cancellation is less than 24 hours in advance, you will receive credit to attend a future class. We will do our best to accommodate your needs. If Mac-Ed Training need to cancel a class you will be offered a full refund or an alternative date.
