Alison Edwards

Alison has worked in the hairdressing industry for over 30 years. She has owned and managed many hairdressing salons in the local area, employing and training apprentices and qualified staff and sharing her extensive knowledge and experience with many who are still in touch now.

Stylists and barbers who were employed and trained by Alison had enriching careers of their own which have led onto owning successful businesses. This passing on of knowledge and skills became the driving force for her to work within the education and training environment. Her core belief has always been to “make a difference” to people’s lives and support others in making positive changes.

Having delivered an extensive range of qualifications within the further education setting, Alison believed there was an opportunity for many other styles of delivery which led onto the opening of Mac-Ed Training academy.

Alison says “I loved my career watching learners start their training and finding the “BUZZ” that I first found inspiring. I want to share my passion, knowledge and skills with everyone! We’ve all got a creative side waiting to be tapped into. As a training school we can help you find and nuture this whether its for your own use or a lifelong career.”

Emma Macmillan

Emma has been working in the beauty industry since 1988. Since gaining her level 3 qualifications she has worked all over the UK and France training salon owners and other therapists in all aspects of the nail and beauty industry.

In 2001 Emma opened her first of 2 salons and quickly became a leading name in the area, delivering first class treatments and high standards of professionalism.

During this time she decided to embark on a teaching qualification which would enable her to work with potential therapists who were training ready for a career in the beauty and nail sector.

Her passion for teaching led to her staying in this area for 15 years and she’s taught numerous learners all aspects of the beauty and nail trade. During the past few years there has been a gap in between the provision offered in education and the needs of salons and customers and because of this Emma decided to develop her own training school to ensure a quality, professional and current course list could be offered to all customers who wish to train in this fantastic area of nail technology and beauty therapy.

“Whether you are looking to expand your knowledge in the Beauty Industry or would like to start a new career we can help.  With our knowledgeable, passionate and experienced educators we offer up to date training courses in a range of latest Beauty, Nail, Hairdressing and Barbering techniques. This career area is the most fun, interesting and forever changing sector. I have loved all my different jobs and have never been bored working in beauty therapy, I cannot imagine not doing this and I have so much experience and knowledge to share. This industry is always changing and developing, you never stop learning, its absolutely fabulous!!!”
